The 2016 Terrain is available in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models, in SLE and SLT trim levels, as well as the Denali. All models include four-wheel disc brakes with StabiliTrak electronic stability control and traction control, as well as six standard air bags: dual frontal air bags, head curtain side air bags and pelvic/thorax seat-mounted side air bags.
The standard Ecotec 2.4L direct-injected engine delivers an EPA-estimated 7.35 L/100km on the highway (FWD models). A direct-injected 3.6L V-6 is available and delivers best-in-class 292 horsepower and 369 Nm of torque. The V-6 engine also enables a trailering capacity of up to 1,588 kg.
In addition to available Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert safety features – previously only found on Denali but now available on SLE and standard on SLT – Terrain offers Rear Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning as part of comprehensive safety packages.
